We are excited to announce that we are implementing Epic EHR for clinical and patient financial activity as well as consolidating ancillary core systems at White Plains Hospital (WPH), Nyack Hospital and Burke Rehabilitation. This project supports Montefiore Health System’s strategic initiative to more closely integrate members and provide more advanced and better-coordinated care to patients in the region.


As part of this expansion, our Epic mobile hardware support team is seeking a Testing Specialist to use his/her extensive knowledge of the client’s clinical or business requirements, application capabilities, and his/her technical skills to implement and support applications. The Testing Specialist is responsible for the implementation of new applications, upgrades, and modifications to existing systems and assisting in the coordination of these efforts, and, is also responsible for the application configuration, go-live support, and on-going client support. The  Testing Specialist works on multiple projects concurrently and will provide outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.




The Testing Specialist will support all testing efforts throughout the continuous implementation and adoption of systems. The Testing Specialist coordinates the planning and execution of diverse comprehensive systems testing efforts. The role will coordinate all testing phases including functional, integrated, device and end user testing for system upgrades, hardware and software patching, disaster recovery readiness and system deployment. The Testing Specialist provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.



  • Organize the planning and execution of the comprehensive testing program for systems, through a variety of different testing phases, including baseline, functional and integrated application testing.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the integrated testing involving the system and third party and ancillary systems, ensuring the integrity of communications between a variety of clinical and business systems.
  • Harmonize application testing with ongoing parallel activities such as client, device, printer and other end-point testing efforts between the application and deployment services team.
  • Track issues/defects and resolution for all testing efforts in a defect tracking solution.
  • Monitor, review, and report on the progress of all testing initiatives to management team and to senior management on occasion.
  • Oversee the development, update, and review of new and existing test scripts, test script design, system test scripts, and baseline test scripts by the application teams.
  • Develop and maintain project work plans for new version release and special update (SU), infrastructure upgrade, disaster recovery and business continuity testing.
  • Coordinate the interaction with application and technical teams to ensure testing environments and resource availability.
  • Participate in testing activities and exercises (including some nights and weekends)
  • Performs other related duties as required.



  • Prior experience with testing/validation of IT systems (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interactive)
  • Very strong organizational skills
  • Effective time management, while dealing with multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently with an emphasis on meeting goals and objectives.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access, Visio)
  • Detail oriented
  • Accuracy focused
  • Prior experience with supporting Epic implementations (preferred)



Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience
