CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST

Receives patients at clinic reception area. Performs general clerical duties.
The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, under the direction of the physician, will operate and monitor the homodynamic equipment during the Cardiac Catheterization. The technologist will continuously monitor the vital signs of the patient during the procedure and will report any changes to the physician. The technologist will also perform other duties as related to the daily operation of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • A.B.S or B.A. degree in a related area and/or graduation of an accredited cardiopulmonary school.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with personnel in other departments, as well as patients in the institution.
  • Previous Cardiopulmonary Lab experience is preferred but not required
  • Analyze EKG, notify MD of baseline, changes and life threatening Arrhythmia.
  • Analyze wave forms and pressures and relay to physician findings and make recommendations regarding the quality of the data.

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

  • Cardiopulmonary Hemodynamic Monitoring System
  • Office Equipment, including fax, PC, copying machine
  • 12 Lead EKG machine
