The Director of Grants and Program Development PRIME is responsible for the administrative oversight of the Psychiatry Research Institute at Montefiore Einstein (PRIME) ,which is the research division of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. The Director of Program Development and Grants Administration will oversee the development and pre- and post-award administration of federal and other research grants in the department and facilitate the recruitment, onboarding and training of new research faculty and staff.,
The Position works closely with the Department/PRIME leadership to develop and implement policies, to craft strategic direction for the operation of the research enterprise, to lead short- and long-term planning for operations and activities, and to set up and supervise new research initiatives within the Department. While the Faculty Co-Director of PRIME, in consultation with the Chair and the Department Executive leadership, establish the academic and intellectual priorities and direction of the research enterprise, the Position operationalizes and implements their vision to realize these plans. The Director will also directly supervise the Senior Director of Grants Administration at PRIME and work closely with Montefiore and Einstein research administrative leadership and with the administrative leadership within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and collaborating departments including the Department of Neuroscience and Department of Medicine. The Director may also oversees major educational grants through the New York State Office of Mental Health related to residency and fellowship training positions as well as philanthropic grants related to research and education.

 

Requirements

 

Master's Degree required

Certified Research Associate (CRA) required

Experience at a high level in federal grant applications, planning, development, report writing and oversight required

Able to maintain oversight of a multitude of federal and clinical grants. 

Superior analytical skill.

Proficiency with computerized spread sheets and database programs.

Demonstrated success / proven record with federal and clinical grant stewardship and applications. Excellent communication skills.

Ability to manage pre- and post-award activities for clinical research grants sponsored by Federal, State, Foundations and industry agencies.

Knowledge of  NAGC [e.g., Uniform Guidance for Federal Awards (2 CFR Part 200); Federal Grant Application Portals and Systems; Federal Requisition Regulation (FAR); The Principles of Cost Accounting; GAAP; HS Protection (45 CFR 46); Technology Transfer; Animal Welfare Act (9 CFR Parts 1-4); Clinical Trials Reporting; Contract Law Fundamentals; The Single Audit Act; Global Export Compliance, COI in Research, Research Misconduct; Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Funding Landscape]
