Job Title: Hospitalist - Weiler Campus
Location: Weiler Campus, Department of Emergency Medicine
Salary: $250,000 per annum plus incentives
Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking qualified and dedicated Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to work as Hospitalists. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, providing care for patients in the Emergency Department (ED) and the adjacent 12-bed inpatient unit known as the AU. The Hospitalists will be integral in managing and coordinating the care of patients, particularly "boarders" awaiting bed assignments in the inpatient units.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:

- Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to patients in the Emergency Department and the AU.
- Manage the care of boarders, ensuring timely assessment, treatment, and coordination of admissions to inpatient units.
- Collaboration:

- Work closely with Emergency Medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Collaborate with the existing team of IM-trained Hospitalists during the transitional phase.
- Transition to Emergency Medicine:

- Successfully adapt to the transition from Medicine to Emergency Medicine, effective January 1, 2024.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational programs related to emergency medicine practices.
- Teamwork:

- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including nurses, specialists, and support staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Incentive Programs:

- The base salary for this position is $250,000 per annum, with additional incentives based on performance metrics and achievement of set goals.

- Stay abreast of advancements in emergency medicine and hospitalist practices.
Qualifications:
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Current NY State medical license and appropriate certifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make timely decisions.
