JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Specialist provides comprehensive support to the Directors of Workers' Compensation and Environmental Wellness, serving the Human Resources department across multiple campuses. This role is integral in supporting a broad range of HR functions and initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment and maintaining a high level of discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities with efficiency and accuracy.
- Work independently and collaboratively across departments and campuses.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Coordinate and manage special projects and support HR initiatives.
- Conduct audits, analyze program data, and administer surveys.
- Manage calendar scheduling and coordination for HR leadership.
- Provide professional and administrative support across HR functions.
- Support the implementation, restructuring, and process improvement of Workers’ Compensation and Environmental Wellness programs.
- Assist in developing and standardizing program documentation and procedures.
- Collaborate to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and improve program performance.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including workplace incidents and injury response.
- Provide direct support and advocacy to staff affected by workplace violence, harassment, or traumatic events.
- Support preliminary investigations and mobilizations of employee support circles, debriefings, and resilience-building programs related to workplace violence.
- Assist with facilitating training and educational sessions on conflict resolution, trauma-informed care, bystander intervention, and violence prevention.
- Assist in safety planning and referrals to internal/external mental health, legal, and social service resources.
- Monitor and evaluate violence prevention and wellness programming effectiveness through data collection and feedback.
- Conduct entry-level interviews and assist with recruitment activities.
- Maintain working knowledge of workers’ compensation statutes and workplace violence prevention regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
- 2–4 years of relevant Human Resources experience, preferably in a healthcare or multi-campus setting
- Experience supporting or administering workers’ compensation or workplace safety programs is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and safety laws and regulations
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with HRIS systems is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential matters with a high degree of integrity and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
