The Neurology Department is nationally recognized for quality of patient care and provides clinical, academic, and research leadership in the region, with well-developed and growing programs in Aging and Dementia, Sleep Disorders, Stroke, Epilepsy, Neuromuscular Medicine, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology and Neuro-Oncology.
Montefiore Medical Center, the teaching hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is the location of the Sleep-Wake Disorders Center of the Department of Neurology which was the first Accredited Sleep Disorders Center in the USA. The Department of Neurology is seeking a Clinical Faculty Member for our world-renowned Sleep-Wake Disorders Center. This practice is located at the Moses division, the main campus of Montefiore Medical Center, that has easy access for patients coming from the northern New York suburbs, Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island, Manhattan and Queens.
Candidates for the Clinical Faculty position should be Board-Certified in Sleep Medicine and have the ability to be a member of a large clinical practice focused on sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment. This position also requires an interest in developing research programs that receive NIH, foundation or industry funding.
We take a comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating patients with sleep disorders, that include sleep related breathing disorders, hypersomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, insomnia and parasomnias. We havea special interest in sleep disoders that have a neurological focus such as narcolepsy and REM sleep behavior disorder. Our staff includes five sleep physicians and has an ACGME approved fellowship program. Our fellowship training program integrates with both the Pulmonary and Pediatrics divisions sleep programs at Montefiore.
The selected candidates will become part of an outstanding team that includes Dr. Michael Thorpy, an international academic leader in Sleep medicine.
In addition to a competitive salary of $250,000-$300,000, we generous productivity incentives. LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
