NURSE PRACTITIONER

BRONX, NY, US


The Nurse Practitioner for Neurosurgery will assess and provide care to a selected group of patients in collaboration with physicians. The NP will be responsible for carrying out the plan of care for their patient panel. The NP contributes to the actualization of the philosophy and objectives of the specific Division/Department. This candidate practices within the scope of practice in care delivery. This candidate participates in performance improvement and research activities and maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise.
 


Requirements/Qualifications:

New York State License for a Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an RN

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)

New York State License as a Registered Nurse, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner

Possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

At least three (3) years of experience working with patients as an RN, PNP or FNP required

Experience working with oncology, neurology, neurosurgery is preferred

Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to work independently. Must have the ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively and effectively in partnership with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, hospital departments, community, and outside organizations.

Must have excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage and follow through on multiple priorities.

Excellent critical thinking, analysis, and assessment skills for successful process improvement planning and monitoring.
