OBESITY MEDICINE SPECIALIST

The Division of Endocrinology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center is expanding its clinical program in obesity and metabolism. We are recruiting for a highly qualified obesity medicine specialist for an academic position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the clinician-educator track. The position includes an exciting opportunity to join our rapidly expanding Fleischer Institute Medical Weight Center on the campus of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and our brand new state-of-the-art medical pavilion in Elmsford, NY.  This position is 100% Obesity Medicine, but flexibility is available for Endocrinologists who want to practice general endocrine/diabetes.  No call responsibilities.  Staff at the weight center includes 2 LPNs, one full-time NP, one part time Physician Assistant, three part-time physicians, two part-time dietitians.  Responsibilities include providing obesity medicine care as a part of multidisciplinary medical weight management services and fellow/resident/medical student teaching.

The program offers opportunities to develop experience and participate in pharmaceutical clinical trials for metabolic diseases, diabetes disparities clinical research lab, diabetes collaborative quality improvement and research networks.  

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

MD or DO

NY license to practice.

Needs to be Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine or Endocrinology

Obesity Medicine Fellowship training is preferred.

American Board of Obesity Medicine Certification or Board Eligibility required 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Note that advertised requirements (including education requirements, qualification and experience) must be met by selected candidate. Otherwise, a new recruitment is required.

 

Practice experience preferred, but fellows scheduled to complete training in the summer of 2025 are eligible.

Experience in the clinical management of obesity using lifestyle interventions, behavioral therapies and obesity pharmacotherapy is required.

 

We offer a competitive base salary of $195,000-$220,000 in addition to productivity incentives. LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) and much more.
