PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

PAs perform exercise and tilt table testing, assist in electrophysiologic studies performed in the EP laboratory/OR, including insertion of temporary pacing catheters and intracardiac mapping, analysis of recordings made during electrophysiologic studies, orientation of the cardiology fellows to electrophysiologic studies, perform initial and follow-up history and physical exams on arrhythmia evaluation (EKGs, carotid sinus massage). The PAs perform initial and follow-up evaluations of pacemaker and ICD patients and evaluation post-operative wounds and also participate in the recruitment/care of patients in research protocols. 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Coverage for both inpatient and outpatient sites of service as operationally necessary (Huch 1250 Waters Place & Moses 111 E210 Street)
  • 3 years of clerical experience involving patient billing or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Certified by the National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA
  • Physician Assistant License by New York State
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
