QA LAB SUPERVISOR

BRONX, NY, US


Responsible for overseeing  HLA laboratory's quality assurance system that supports the transplant programs; primary responsibility of validation and implementation processes in collaboration with the HLA laboratory director; ensures regulatory compliance; staff training and competency assessment; and research and development activities. Assists with lab coverage in support of deceased donor transplant programs.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 3 years of laboratory training or experience in clinical laboratory preferably histocompatibility, immunogenetics and/or transplantation immunology
  • Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS); certification is highly preferred, but not required
  • Experience with document control systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to retain confidential information
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization to influence participation in development, quality, and safety related programs/activities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver results
  • Ability to implement suggestions and recommendations
  • Proficiency in managing HistoTrac and/or other laboratory information systems
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing is highly preferred, but not required
