RESPIRATORY THERAPIST-REG

BRONX, NY, US


Performs therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities.  

Provides respiratory support to all patients with abnormalities of cardiopulmonary function.

Responds to and provides assistance with cardiopulmonary arrests.

Administers and monitors of all diagnostic and therapeutic modalities within the service’s scope of practice.  

RT may also be required to train PCT/LPN staff to perform PFT/Spirometry and required to provide PFT and/or training services at multiple locations as needed.

Maintains all respiratory equipment.

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Program or Certificate of completion from an AMA accredited program.

Current NYS Respiratory Therapist License. CRT, RRT or Registry Eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care. (CRT may perform procedures under the supervision of an RRT).

Current BLS by the American Heart Association.

One - two years of experience in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
