SECRETARY I

BRONX, NY, US


Performs secretarial and routine administrative duties. Provides support to patients and med/surg team. Responsible for general clerical responsibilities, planning, preparing required correspondence, organization of and scheduling of activities for the assigned providers. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform administrative duties including handling calls from patients, providers, etc., and forwarding to the appropriate parties. Preparation of correspondence and forms.

Screen and respond to telephone and mail inquiries. Research and prepare data in response to inquiries and assist in preparing paperwork .

Assist in handling staff scheduling

Make/receive phone calls for supplemental staffing and overtime.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of secretarial experience involving customer service or equivalent combination of training preferred.  
  • Training in PC based automated word processing systems, PC or mainframe based database management programs.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's Degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
