STAFF NURSE I/II

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients. Assesses patients, develops, and documents nursing care and discharge plans, and prepares and administers medications and interventions. Supervises nursing attendants and ancillary staff in patient care activities. Superb communication and customer service skills are required at all times to interact effectively with all patients.  The Staff Nurse will assist with the following procedures: prostate biopsy, prostate fusion biopsy, cystoscopy, bladder biopsy, vasectomy and laceration removal, with approximately 100 procedures being done on a weekly basis.

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

New York State Registered Professional Nursing license and current registration. 

Basic Life Support. 

Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.

Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system.

Use of patient care equipment as authorized by scope of practice.

Use of electronic clinical information system.
