PATIENT SAFETY MANAGER

YONKERS, NY, US


Coordinate various efforts to improve quality of care and patient safety throughout the organization by identifying flawed systems and error prone processes for remediation.  Investigates adverse events to determine the source of errors and uses patient safety science to make it easy to do the right thing and hard to err.

 

Conducts rounds to audit compliance with the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals and other regulatory mandates.

 

Performs chart reviews to validate serious safety events and reports the results of their investigation at the weekly Serious Event Review (SERC) weekly meeting.

 

EDUCATION/SKILLS:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as an allied health professional with clinical experience in direct patient care in an acute care hospital setting required.
  • The individual must have clinical experience involving the direct care of patients as a healthcare professional (e.g. RN, PA, RT, Pharmacist, Physical therapist etc.)
  • The individual must be self-motivated, capable of prioritizing multiple projects, able to interact professionally with senior and clinical leadership. Able to utilize data for data driven change. 
  • Skilled at working with inter-professional teams.
  • Must become a Certified Professional in Patient Safety within a year of hire.
