The Position

The Division of Geriatrics at Montefiore Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York is seeking a full-time faculty member with an interest in developing as a clinician scientist. The Division of Geriatrics includes 13 physician faculty, a highly regarded fellowship program, outstanding clinical programs in all care settings,  and a nationally recognized research infrastructure.  The ideal candidate has an interest in developing into an independent researcher through mentorship and grant support. There is an opportunity to obtain a master’s degree in clinical research through our Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The clinical responsibilities can be chosen from either the ambulatory or inpatient setting that is matched to the candidates area of research interest.  The ambulatory settings include  geriatrics consultations at the Center for the Aging Brain (CAB), a multidisciplinary dementia evaluation unit, and a designated NY State Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease (CEAD), and the Geriatrics Ambulatory Practice (GAP) which provides both primary and consultative care.  The inpatient settings includes a geriatrics hospitalist or consultative  service,  or a geriatrics-orthopedics co-management service.  There is significant opportunity for collaboration with our research partners at Einstein including the Division of Cognitive and Motor Aging (DCMA), and our community partners throughout the Montefiore-Einstein network.

 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and board certified or eligible in Geriatrics.
  • An interest in participating in collaborative research and providing high quality clinical care and teaching in an academic setting.
  • In addition to a competitive salary of $190,000-220,000, we offer the opportunity for additional income with productivity incentives.  LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
