ADMINISTRATIVE NURSING MANAGER

The Montefiore Administrative Nurse Manager maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement.

The Administrative Nurse Manager actualizes the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.

As a member of the Faculty Practice Management team, the Administrative Nurse Manager will assist the Sr. Director and Assistant Director of Clinical Operations with oversight of the Faculty Practice Group's standardization of ambulatory clinical practices in terms of functionality, workflows and staffing. The position will join the clinical operations team in all operational and clinical activities of the Faculty Practice Group's performance improvement, quality initiatives and research activities, maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise and demonstrates leadership skills. The responsibilities will involve the development and implementation of comprehensive programs for quality and improvement activities to facilitate the achievement of the fiscal and strategic objectives of the Faculty Practice Group. The Administrative Nurse Manager will be assigned to as needed clinical RN functions for various organizational initiatives and will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care throughout all of the faculty practice departments. The incumbent will also assist with developing and implementing education programs that align with Montefiore's policies for all clinical associates throughout the Faculty Practice Group. 

 

This position will be part of a team tasked to develop benchmarks for standardized patient care protocols across the 26 ambulatory specialty care practices for the Faculty Practice Groups at 120+ locations. The incumbent will coordinate with the various FPG departments and collaborate closely with managers to achieve optimal patient flow, clinical operations, and effective patient outcomes. The incumbent must ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and laws; including but not limited to those established by Montefiore Medical Center, the Joint Commission, CMS, NYS Department of Health, ADA, and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The position is responsible to uphold compliance with Montefiore Medical Center’s policies/procedures, service excellence standards and regulatory requirements. The position is responsible to create an environment in which autonomy is nurtured, encouraged and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care. Professional interdisciplinary collaboration, communication and teamwork enable care delivery to the customers and community to improve health and wellness.

 

This position will require travel to multiple practice locations each week. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Implement clinical processes and systematic operations throughout the FPG. Demonstrates professional growth and accountability for own practice and facilitates the professional growth and development of assigned associates.
  • Manages process to ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures of MMC and regulatory agencies. 
  • Assist team to ensure Faculty Practice Group remains competitive and adheres to industry wide standard levels of care by applying benchmark data to the review and analysis of operational staffing and productivity throughout the 26 departments. 
  • Demonstrates responsibility for maintaining professional competency through participation in professional activities.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance through monitoring and education across departments.
  • May be assigned to lead additional projects, teams, initiatives as determined by Faculty Practice Senior Leadership, including the potential for clinical care..
  • Reviews and analyzes incidents and complaints and coordinates investigations and follow- up regarding patient care and quality. 
  • Identify and implement changes in processes and procedures that enhance program efficiencies and enhance interdisciplinary collaboration across 26+ departments.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and communication skills by setting expectations, developing and communicating plans and managing processes to assess, improve and maintain quality services provided in areas of accountability.
  • Performs in depth audits across the various departments and identify inefficiencies with workflows, then implement corrective actions from a clinical perspective.
  • Facilitates learning needs of self and staff by providing opportunities for staff development to gain skills necessary to provide age specific care to the patients serviced on the assigned clinical area.
  • Integrates the standards of excellence into daily clinical practice.
  • Integrates management/ leadership skills into daily clinical/ administrative practice
  • Executes responsibility and accountability for own practice.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
  • NYS Registered Professional Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
  • Practice Management Systems (EPIC, Phoenix, IDX, Midas)
  • BLS, Infection Control Certificate required
  • Ambulatory and Management experience preferred. 
  • Superior communication skills, presentation skills. Proficient with customer service principles.
  • Data Analysis experience; Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective management skills necessary to organize, direct and evaluate clinical associates. Analytical skills necessary for problem solving and clinical decision making
  • A strong commitment to furthering institutional performance measures through interdisciplinary teamwork is essential
