Job Summary

The Administrative Supervisor of the Department of Psychiatry Revenue Cycle team will oversee all revenue cycle operations including billing and clerical duties such as payment posting, claims reconciliations, authorization processes, denials, and other billing related activities. They will oversee a team of two Senior Clerks who will carry out billing responsibilities. The Administrative Supervisor will report to the Director of Revenue Cycle and is responsible of providing timely, detailed progress reports on the work of the team. They will also be responsible for managing and assigning daily tasks to the senior clerks and will escalate challenges to the Director as needed. 

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to -

 

-Assist the Director of Revenue Cycle in the provision of administrative support to the department in alignment with the mission of the department and that of the medical center

-Coordinate compliance with accrediting agencies NYS DOH, JCAHO, NYC DOH

-Supervise administrative and clerical support staff. Assign work and insure timely and accurate completion. Interview, terminate and conduct performance appraisals.

-Submit and monitor employee time records in automated system. Resolve problems with Payroll and HR. Prepare PAF’s and Requisitions.

-Monitor and track administrative expenditures and expenses and assist administrator in compiling data for budget submission process. 

-Coordinate purchase orders, serve as liaison with accounting, accounts payable and purchasing departments. 

 

Requirements

 

High School Diploma/ GED required Bachelors Degree preferred

Five years of healthcare billing experience preferred
