APPLICATION ANALYST

The application analyst is expected to be part of the development, implementation, and maintenance of new laboratory information system (LIS). In this role, the individual will work closely with each laboratory section to document current and future workflows, build the necessary database tables and assume a supporting role during any go-lives as well as to ongoing issues and problems.

The individual will also serve as liaison with IT, Revenue Cycle and others in support of departmental projects, initiatives and processes.

Responsibilities:
•    Develop knowledge of laboratory workflows and processes. Assess existing workflows and implication as they pertain to the LIS
•    Fully and thoroughly document existing and future workflows
•    Build necessary database tables, as well as any other application build required for the system's effective operations
•    Develop new LIS expertise required for understanding new product and impact knowledge with team and end users
•    Perform unit testing, integration testing, etc.
•    Assist with end user training. Provide ongoing support
•    Interact with Montefiore IT team to ensure highest quality product and efficiently running LIS
•    Work with other departments on projects and initiatives that support he goals of the department
•    Perform analysis as required by leadership

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or closely related required
•    Minimum of 1 Year of work experience required
•    Clinical lab background is also preferred but not required 
•    Excellent data analysis skills are required as is the handling of spreadsheets, pivot tables. 
•    Excellent written, oral communication, documentation and organizational skills required
•    Be able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; multi-task effectively, be a motivated and quick learner

This position is located in the Moses campus in Pathology Administration. The hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
