ASSISTANT DIRECTOR LAB

BRONX, NY, US


The Assistant Lab Director is responsible for daily operations of the Transplant Immunology Laboratory. Ensures 24/7 lab coverage in support of deceased donor transplant programs. Responsible for technical accuracy and medical reliability of existing and newly implemented laboratory tests. Reports to the Laboratory Director. Maintain an effective working relationship with the lab staff, clinical teams, accrediting and regulatory agencies, and the larger medical community. 

 

Requirements:

Ph.D. required

Length of work experience required: 5 years

Training Required: Clinical histocompatibility and immunogenetics

Applicants (MD, DO, MD/Ph.D., or Ph.D.) must meet the applicable requirements to be eligible for New York State Department of Health Laboratory Director licensure in histocompatibility. All candidates must be board certified/eligible as a diplomate of the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI).

Expertise in histocompatibility and immunogenetics, excellent technical abilities, and leadership experience are required. 
Knowledge of transplant immunology and immunogenetics
Knowledge of regulations and standards of regulatory agencies: CLIA, ASHI, UNOS.
