ASSISTANT DIRECTOR NURSING/PER DIEM

The Assistant Director of Nursing maintains standards of the practice of nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement.

 

The candidate actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center  Participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills.  The ADN embraces both the Professional Practice Model and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.  ADN role models service exscellence.  He/she participates in performance improvement and research activities, maintains professional practice standards, and demonstrates leadership and management skills.  The ADN will be responsible for quality management, peer review, and performance improvement processes within a designated Nursing Care Center, ensuring that these activities are coordinated through the Department of Professional Practice/Nursing Quality and are in alignment with organizational priorities.  The ADN will support the goals of the Department of Professional Practice, working to ensure that the delivery of nursing care at the Care Center is aligned within scope of practice guidelines established by the American Nursing Association and the NY State Department of Education, Pofessional Licensing Division.  The ADN will perform care finding and analysis, provide QI committee support, and facilitate the conduct of studies and projects that will achieve Nursing Care Center and organizational goals for cost, quality and service.  The ADN also serves as a liaison at each Care Center for support of professional nursing practice at ambulatory and procedural areas of those Care Centers, and assists in support of other ambulatory care sites as assigned.

 

Education/Experience:

NY State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration.

Masters of Science in Nursing or related field required.

Minimal three years management experience.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Effective management skills necessary to direct and guide the nursing staff in maintaining safe nursing practice.

Ability to apply and utilize a balanced scorecard measures.

Critical thinking and analytics skills necessary for problem solving and clinical decision making.

Computer literacy.
