Williamsbridge Family Practice (WFP) is the Department’s teaching community health center. It is a federally qualified health center, serving predominantly working-class African American, Caribbean Americans, and other immigrant populations in the Northeast Bronx.

 

We are seeking candidates for the key leadership position of Assistant Medical Director for WFP, who are highly qualified, capable, and strongly aligned with the Department's mission and goals, and welcome candidates from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in medicine.

The position involves oversight of clinical programs at Williamsbridge Family Medicine Practice.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Provides leadership support for direct supervision and coordination of schedules of family medicine physicians and residents practicing at Williamsbridge.

• Implement clinical and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with Williamsbridge Medical Director and Montefiore Medical Group

• Collaborate closely with the Medical Director, residency program leadership, clinical faculty, and family medicine trainees to promote and sustain a positive clinical learning environment

• Participate in recruitment, retention, and evaluation activities for Family Medicine clinical site faculty.

• Maintain strong collaborative partnerships with DFSM clinical and operational leadership, residency program leadership

Time Commitments:

  • Approximately 20% time (0.2 FTE) dedicated to Administrative/Management duties for this role.
  •  The remainder of the time will be dedicated to a mixture of clinical care and potentially other responsibilities. The clinical services will be primarily at Williamsbridge but may include primary care services for Wakefield Mental Health Clinic.
  • Will participate in the in-patient Family Medicine Service coverage.

 

Reporting structure:

  • Reports to Williamsbridge Medical Director

Requirements include:

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in care of underserved populations and community health 
  • Commitment to excellence in patient care and to the Department's core mission and goals
  • Strong communication skills

 

Prior medical leadership experience is an asset

 

In addition to a competitive salary of $175,000-$220,000, we offer the opportunity to make additional income with productivity incentives.  CME with stipend, LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
