The Assistant Director of Nursing is required to maintain standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement.

The Assistant Director of Nursing will actualize the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.  The Assistant Director will also participate in performance improvement/research activities; and maintain professional practice standards and clinical expertise. 

The ADN will be required to embrace both the Professional Practice Model and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing and serve as a liaison at each Care Center for support of professional nursing practice at ambulatory and procedural areas of those Care Centers, and assist in support of other ambulatory care sites as assigned.  This position will be located at either of the following sites:  Weiler, Moses or Wakefield.  Location will be determined post interview. 


Required Education:

New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse.

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.

Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.


Required Experience/Skills:

Minimum of 3 years management experience.

Ability to effectively direct and guide the nursing staff in maintaining safe practice.

Ability to apply and utilize balanced scorecard measures (customer service, financial, innovation and growth, and performance improvement).

Critical thinking and analytic skills necessary for problem solving and clinical decision-making.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and computer literacy.
