The Department of Surgery is looking for a well-trained Board Eligible/Board Certified Bariatric Surgeon to join our very busy bariatric and general surgery practice.

The successful candidate should be an excellent surgeon who is fellowship trained with experience and expertise in laparoscopic, robotic, foregut and bariatric surgeries. This is a full-time 12-month salaried faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at Albert Einstein School of Medicine and carries with it attending staff privileges at Montefiore Medical Systems and affiliated hospitals. 

We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. 


  • Teaching Duties:  Candidate provides clinical and didactic teaching to residents, medical students and staff.
  • Research Duties: Must participate in clinical research and mentor residents and medical students.
  • Clinical Duties:  Specific responsibilities include: direct patient care across the full continuum of care, serving as an attending physician on the bariatric service, and supervise students and Residents assigned to the General Surgery Bariatric service
  • Essential Functions of Position:  Values patient safety and excellent surgical outcomes and high degree of patient satisfaction/ service excellence.
  • Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
  • Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
  • Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in General/Bariatric Surgery

In addition to a competitive salary of $300000-$350,000, we offer the opportunity to make more income with additional call responsibilities and productivity incentives.  LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
