CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST

BRONX, NY, US


Under direct supervision of the physician, prepares patients, assembles and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiologic equipment during interventional and diagnostic procedures. Continuously monitors· vital signs, EKG and pressure recordings. Analyzes intercardiac electrogram and reports results. Performs direct and indirect patient care. Maintains appropriate documentation. Performs other duties as related to the daily operation of the cardiac electrophysiology laboratory.

 

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED required and either:
    • Bachelor's degree in biological science or a clinical health related field OR
    • A minimum of one year of cardiovascular experience required.
  • Ability to perform hemodynamic / electrophysiologic monitoring and calculation preferred.
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and/or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) and/or IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) certification preferred at hire or within 2 yrs of employment.
  • BLS required
