SUMMARY OF POSITION:


It is expected that all Surgical Technicians will function as members of a team dedicated to support the highest quality care and service to our patients, physicians and other associates. As an integral part of the team, the Surgical Technician is responsible to scrubs for and assists in various types of surgical procedures and provides the necessary instrumentation, supplies and equipment for operations. The Surgical technician assists in nursing care activities under the direction of the Registered Nurse.


EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

 

•High School graduate or equivalent
•Successful completion of a nationally accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists or completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

•Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization within 12 months of completion of educational program;
•BLS required.
