The Chief Physician Assistant will oversee and direct physician assistants in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, including both outpatient and inpatient services. The successful candidate will develop pathways and protocols to increase plastic surgery patient flow.  In addition, they will serve as liaison between physician leadership and physician assistants and manage personnel schedules and clinical care.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in OR with plastic surgery and communicate with hospital and office PAs as needed.
  • Oversee the continuity of care of these patients and develop protocols and pathways to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop, oversee and manage PA work schedules in both hospital/OR (inpatient) and outpatient setting, service assignments and responsibilities in conjunction with physician leadership.
  • Screen and interview new recruits and manage new hires. Assist in management of budget preparation and adherence.


Please note:  This position is 4, 10-hour shifts; Monday - Friday covering clinic and OR


Education/skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree coupled with ten (10) year’s PA experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • Certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Physician Assistant License by New York State
  • Graduate of an accredited PA program
