CHILD LIFE SPECIALIST

BRONX, NY, US


Child Life Specialist provides cost-effective delivery of high-quality child life services to our patients. This involves performing thorough patient developmental assessments; creating and implementing individualized treatment plans for developmentally appropriate preparation and support throughout hospitalization; serving as a resource and liaison for patients and their family members and the interdisciplinary team; precepting playroom assistants, students and volunteers; maintaining playroom activities and supplies; and participating in quality/performance improvement initiatives.  quality/performance improvement initiatives.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Must have a certification in child life or be eligible to sit for exam; must pass exam within one year and maintain certification throughout employment. Master’s degree preferred, BS/BA, in child life, education, child development or related fields required

 

We have the following positions available 1 FTE radiology, 1FTE inpatient, 1 FTE pediatric emergency department

 

For candidates with 5 plus years of certified experience, opportunities for Senior level positions are available

 

Salary Range/Pay Rate:   $31.34
