CONSULTATION LIAISON PSYCHIATRY

The Division of Psychiatry and Medicine within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine  is seeking  a full-time academic addictions psychiatrists to help us build our new inpatient addictions consultation service.

 

The new faculty attending will join our existing multidisciplinary team of four and a half in patient Consultation Liaison Psychiatrists, two Transplant Psychiatrist, three psychologists, and social worker. The new Addictions psychiatrist will share in Addictions consults as part of the larger team. This position has leadership potential as we plan to expand services to meet the growing needs of patients with substance use disorder.

 

The Consultation Liaison and Addiction Psychiatry service at Moses is a busy and innovative consultation and teaching service.  As a team we participate in the education and training of many different learners including medical students, psychiatry and neurology residents, consultation liaison and addictions fellows, and psychology interns.

 

The Moses campus hospital is a 750-bed tertiary care, referral hospital with a wide range of services. While the hospital draws patients from the tri-state area, the mission of Montefiore is oriented to providing outstanding, comprehensive care to the Bronx communities with. a focus on social determinants of health and social justice..

Eligible applicants are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.  Additional training in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and/or Addiction Psychiatry is highly encouraged but not required.
