CREDENTIALED PSYCHOLOGIST

The Substance Abuse Treatment Program [SATP] at Montefiore has been providing methadone treatment for opioid dependence for over 35 years. SATP Units I and III offer cutting edge individual and group counseling to admitted patients. The position will engage in assessments, group and individual psychotherapy and research activities within two Opioid Treatment Programs and an outpatient Chemical Dependency program, as well as provide training and supervision for trainees within these programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide risk assessments for patients enrolled in treatment and manage psychiatric emergencies as needed
- Directly supervise and provide clinical oversight to psychology trainees at SATP
- Conduct clinical assessments, create service plans and provide group and individual psychotherapy
- Review client charts and case records to ensure regulatory compliance in counseling and psychiatric care
- Conduct in-service trainings for clinical staff
- Conduct and publish research activities within the program
- Provide risk assessments for patients enrolled in treatment and manage psychiatric emergencies as needed
Qualifications:
- Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology
- NYS license in Clinical Psychology
- Expertise in the assessments and evidence-based treatment of substance use disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and other psychiatric conditions
- Experience in clinical supervision and training
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
- Flexibility and ability to find creative solutions to challenges
