DIRECTOR CLINICAL EDUCATION PHARMACY SVCS

The Director of Clinical Education and Pharmacy Services is responsible for ensuring effective drug therapy outcomes by integrating clinical practice programs and individuals into operational evidenced-based, patient-centered care throughout the organization.  This individual coordinates resources to continually assess the appropriateness, safety, and efficacy of drug therapy and provide recommendations, information and education to improve the quality of pharmacotherapy rendered to patients. Responsible for pharmacy education and training programs, research initiatives, drug information and formulary functions. Organizes, coordinates and keeps minutes of the Montefiore Medical Center and the Montefiore Health-system Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees. Oversee, manage and evaluate the activities of the Clinical Pharmacy Managers at the Montefiore Medical Center campuses. IRB and other relevant MMC and MHS committee functions.

 

PharmD degree is necessary with 7 to 10 years of experience in progressive pharmacy practice or a Pharmacy Residency. Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education programs and review of periodical literature.  Maintains and provides proof of 15 Continuing Education credits each year. Excellent leadership and motivational skills required as is superior verbal and written communication skills.
