The Deputy Director, Operations is responsible for the management of owned and leased Montefiore properties, finance, and administrative/human resources functions of Montefiore’s Real Estate Department.

The position has evolved to a point where it aligns with the private sector role, responsibilities and expectation in the CRE (corporate real estate) industry.   Chief among these is the intensified emphasis on occupant well- being: life/safety/heath in the workplace – and the building systems and health protocols supporting them. Furthermore, the position serves as the lead in capital planning and enterprise asset management.

In that capacity, the position is responsible for maintenance of critical life/safety systems at multiple properties, in particular, and across the Real Estate-managed portfolio as necessary. This position oversees the management of multiple long and short term sophisticated facilities agreements and, most critically, supports the management of the department’s finances including but not limited to budgeting, expected and anticipated capital projects. The position, in cooperation with the Deputy Director of Finance, implements the Department’s personnel decisions and actions for job creation, posting, and filling. This position also manages the Department’s represented staff.
