Montefiore Medical Center, the university hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, operates four acute care hospitals with more than 1,500 beds, including the 126-bed Children’s Hospital that provides primary, specialty and subspecialty health care to infants and children up to 21 years old. Montefiore Medical Group (MMG) provides exceptional primary and specialty care services at more than 20 locations to residents of the Bronx and Westchester County. MMG offers comprehensive medical care in a multitude of medical specialties for every stage of life, from children to seniors.

 

The Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP) provides comprehensive medical and mental health services at 32 school-based health centers in the Bronx with a growing number of sites providing dental and community health services. The mission of MSHP, in collaboration with the Bronx community, is to eliminate health disparities facing children living in the Bronx by providing full access to high quality comprehensive primary and preventive health services regardless of one’s ability to pay. 

 

Dentist

Montefiore Medical Center School Health Program is recruiting licensed dentists (DMD or DDS) to join the largest, expanding, full service school-based health program in the country (https://www.montefiore.org/school-health-program). Dentists are part of an on-site interdisciplinary team that includes mental health providers, physicians, nurse practitioners, and community health organizers. Specific clinical responsibilities include educating, diagnosing, and providing treatment within the school health scope of services. The candidate should have current infection control training and good documentation skills. Other responsibilities include participating in team activities, attending required meetings, assisting in projects to increase enrollment and identifying enrolled children for services.  Qualified candidates must have a N.Y.S. license and at least 2 year’s experience providing dental care to children and/or adolescents.  The candidate should have good communication skills and a strong commitment to public health dentistry.

 

Position Details

Positions are full time (M-F 7:30 – 3:30) with summers off (July and August) and excellent benefits.  Salary commensurate with education and experience.
