FINANCIAL ANALYST -(Revenue Management Analyst)

Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst (Revenue Management Analyst) is responsible for clinical trial finance operations including billing, collection and reconciliation processes. This role will be essential in ensuring the hospital receives correct reimbursements and maintaining a culture of accountability and compliance. The incumbent will drive and coordinate processes to secure maximum revenue from study fees through reconciliation and collection. He/she sets clear and achievable goals and puts the necessary metrics in place to monitor and ensure progress.
Position Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Track patient visit, milestones, invoiceable procedures/items, amounts owed, payments received (including payments from monitor visits), and effort expended by studystaff.
- Ensure study calendars are completed, reconciled with study teams for appropriate invoicing in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with study teams and ancillary departments to ensure appropriate parties (funding sources) are invoiced for research-related services based on Coverage Analysis and budget.
- Responsible for reconciliation of outstanding research charges versus monies received from funder. Reconcile monthly research bills and ensure research charges are accurate.
- Ensure timely clinical trial account invoicing to sponsors which matches protocol driven procedures with patient accruals/visits to ensure appropriate invoicing and reimbursement.
- Enterprise reporting of research financial metrics.
- Collaborate with billing compliance and billing analyst to perform routine audits of research accounts to ensure billing compliance, using the informed consent document, clinical trial agreement, and study budgets.
- Involved in developing strategies for maximizing financial opportunities in the conduct of research through reconciling charges, accurately and timely invoicing and ancillary billing.
- Perform special projects and miscellaneous duties as needed and requested.
Schedule: Mon-Fri; 8:30am - 5pm
Salary Range/Rate: $60,000-$80,000
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 2+ years experience
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft office required.
- Strong knowledge of clinical processes, medical terminology, and the clinical research life cycle required.
Knowledge/or Equipment operation requirements:
- Knowledge of Epic, ICD-10 and/or CPT codes and research billing highly desirable
- Working Knowledge of hospital charge capture flow, and charge description master.
- Working knowledge of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' clinical trial policy.
- Working knowledge of medical billing and billing compliance.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to correctly decipher regulatory or procedural language.
- Ability to understand in-house developed systems and identify risks with, or gaps in, those systems.
