Provides leadership in the planning and overall development of reporting tools for the reporting and analytics team and supporting systems used throughout the Revenue Cycle. This position serves as a liaison between leadership, Montefiore IT staff, and end-users, focusing on the reporting needs of operational, receivable, and quality improvement initiatives for the Health Service Receivables (HSR) department.

This position will be responsible for assisting and collaborating with fellow reporting team members in the analysis, requirements, design, development, testing, enhancement, documentation, and ongoing support of reporting requests.


  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of reports in Epic and other systems and provides a single point of contact for report specific projects.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing projects, as well as minimizing risks and satisfying compliance and efficiency needs with regards to reporting systems and databases.
  • Takes projects and reports from original concept to final implementation.
  • Develops detailed report specifications, work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Maintain open communication and transparency with team members regarding current/past projects to create a fluid, flexible, and efficient team environment.
  • Provides support for ongoing development, maintenance, and remediation of reports that have been developed as systems are upgraded or changed.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively through both written and verbal means.
  • Ability to fully utilize electronic record systems, equipment, and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to handle large quantities of data efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Strong background in data management and computer skills including reporting and database terminology, development of spreadsheets, analysis, and manipulation of complex data from multiple data sources.
  • Analytical and critical thinking necessary for reviewing reports, identifying errors, and quickly formulating corrective measures.
  • Self-motivated and a desire to constantly improve and learn new concepts, with the ability to adapt to frequent changes.
  • Eagerness to learn the system and promote it within the organization.
  • Ability to differentiate between different reporting tools and quickly and effectively choose the most appropriate one for any given request.
  • Must be able to think outside the box to find solutions to reporting needs collectively as a team.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Epic Cogito Certification/Proficiency preferred (For candidates who do not possess the Epic Revenue Data Model Certification, employment is contingent on obtaining it).


  • Two years of experience in a similar reporting position in a healthcare setting or related field is required.
  • Familiarity with workflows and processes for one of more of the following preferred:
    • Hospital Revenue Cycle
    • Hospital Billing
    • Professional Billing
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following system application areas preferred:
    • Patient demographic systems and associated third party tools
    • Patient registration and scheduling systems and associated third party tools
    • Revenue cycle systems for hospital billing and claims submission and associated third party tools
  • Experience with relational databases and proficiency with report writing tools
  • Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure
  • SQL reporting experience in Oracle database required
