INTRAOPERATIVE MONITORING TECHNICIAN

The Intraoperative Monitoring Technician: (IOM)
1. Performs intraoperative neurophysiology recordings and preoperative baseline studies under direction of neurophysiologist.
2. Performs clinical (EVP) Evoked Potential studies.
3. Utilizes new technologies/equipment/procedures to improve patient assessment and care.
4. May also perform routine Electrodiagnostic (EEG).
Education/ Certifications
Associates Degree level- ABRET Certification as in one or more neurodiagnostic technologies, such as EEG, EP or Long-Term Monitoring, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience performing IOM.
CPR certification and Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Associate’s Degree required.
