LABORATORY SUPERVISOR

BRONX, NY, US


 

The Laboratory Supervisor supervises daily operations in the Transplant Immunology Laboratory. Oversees training and performance of laboratory personnel. Responsible for quality control and quality assurance of lab reagents and equipment. 

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred

At least 3 years of work experience required

New York State certification as Clinical Histocompatibility Technologist (restricted license) or Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
Knowledge of Transplant Immunology and Immunogenetics. 
Able to perform high complexity histocompatibility testing to assess compatibility between transplant recipient and donor. 
Able to assess and verify the validity of histocompatibility test results.
Able to interpret histocompatibility and immunogenetics results.
Able to operate dual-laser flow cytometers, microarray platform (Luminex), DNA isolation equipment, real-time PCR equipment, gel electrophoresis, digital UV imager, thermocyclers, fluorescence microscopes, light microscopes, centrifuges, microsyringes, cell plating dispensers, multichannel pipettes, computers, professional software.ASHI certification as Clinical Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Clinical Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) is recommended.
