LABORIST, OBSTETRIC HOSPITALIST PHYSICIAN

THE POSITION: The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health is seeking a full-time obstetric hospitalist physician with solid clinical and academic experience to join the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Medical Staff of Montefiore Medical Center. Our objective is to recruit a clinically sound, mission-driven, and compassionate physician/educator dedicated to the provision of care to the local community in Bronx County, New York City.

 

 THE CANDIDATE:  The candidate must be capable of working with residents, medical students, fellows, and advanced practice providers (NP/PA) in labor and delivery, the operating rooms, and inpatient units. The candidate must demonstrate the ability provide antenatal care, intrapartum management to deliveries, and patient education in a fast-paced, high acuity, patient-centered environment and be committed to social justice and providing equitable care to patients from diverse backgrounds

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Medical Degree
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Eligible to obtain a New York Medical License and DEA License

 

THE OPPURTUNITY:

 

  • Full-time position
  • General Obstetrics hospital day or night shift coverage
  • Work in a large, thriving department with support from nine academic divisions including:

Family Planning, Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Reproductive Endocrinology, and Infertility, Reproductive and Medical Genetics

THE COMMUNITY: The Bronx is the northernmost of the five boroughs of New York City and is also known as Bronx County. It is the greenest of New City’s borough. Many well-known attractions include the famous Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Garden, and the Poe Cottage. Cultural attractions include, the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, which is home to the Arthur Aviles Typical Theatre, a contemporary dance company, and the Bronx Dance Coalition. The Bronx Museum of the Arts, founded in 1971, exhibits 20th century and contemporary art through its central museum space and 11,000 square feet of galleries. Many of its exhibitions are on themes of special interest to the Bronx. The Bronx is also home to the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball, the original Yankee Stadium opened in 1923 on 161st Street and River Avenue, a year that saw the Yankees bring home their first of 27 World Series Championships.

 

 

COMPENSATIONIn addition to a competitive salary of $205,000-400,000, we offer the opportunity to make more income with additional call responsibilities and productivity incentives.  LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
