The Special Procedure Technologist, Lead, Cardiovascular is an essential member of the invasive cardiology lab team with a high degree of responsibility. The Cardiovascular Specialist must be able to work well in an interdisciplinary team and in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to employ critical thinking skills and be patient safety focused. Assists with diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic procedures., including but not limited to: peripheral and coronary angioplasty/stent, atherectomy, laser, coronary ultrasound, temporary cardiac assist devices, mitral clip, TAVR, ablations, device implantation., lead and device extraction/explant.

 

Mentors, trains and provides guidance to technical staff. Assists in scheduling and resolving coverage issues. The Cardiovascular Specialist is a resource for staff and physicians on sterile technique and the use /maintenance of supplies and equipment used in routine and complex cases.

 

The Cardiovascular Specialist will be assigned at the Einstein or Moses campus based on patient care need.

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required

2 years experience scrubbing in for invasive cardiac an/or vascular (CV) procedures or 1 year experience scrubbing in on invasive CV procedures and RCIS or RCES Certification

BCLS and ACLS required.

Registered Cardiovascular Technologist ( RCIS or RCES), or RT (R,CI) or other deemed acceptable certification or degree

Foreign Trained Medical Doctorate with deemed appropriate experience will be considered
