POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Department of Urology is seeking a qualified LPN interested in working in a new location in Hutch Tower One.  This position offers direct and indirect patient care responsibilities and offers an opportunity to be a part of a growing team looking to improve efficiency and the overall patient, provider & team experience.

 

The Montefiore Licensed Practice Nurse contributes standard of the practice for Nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing Social Policy Statement.
The LPN participates in supporting our Urology Department while maintaining practice standards, clinical expertise and demonstrates leadership skills and teamwork. The LPN demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on our Urology Patients Population Served.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provides direct care our Urology patients population which includes but not limited to:

Triaging Patients.

POC duties

Assists Providers with outpatient Procedure. (Cystoscopes/ Prostate Biopsies/ Urodynamics/Catheter Care etc.)

Medication Administration

Patient Education

Chart Documentation per MMC policies and procedures.

Willing to cover Offsite locations.

 

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma and graduate from an LPN school

New York State License for Practical Nurse and current registration

Basic Life Support.

Infection Control Certification

Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.

Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system.

Additional education required by specialty areas/patient care location.
