The Montefiore Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) in the Department of Radoiology contributes standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement. 

 

The LPN actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced score card performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. The LPN participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. 

 

The LPN demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served. The Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to the actualization of the vision, mission, values and philosophy and balanced score card performance measures for the Medical Center. 

 

This role is committed to maintaining the standards of the practice of nursing and is responsible for the delivery of care to the pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient within their scope of practice. He/she participates in performance improvement, research activities and maintains clinical expertise.

 

Education/Skills required:
•    New York State License for Practical Nurse and current registration to practice as an LPN in New York State. 
•    Basic Life Support 
•    Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal. 
•    Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system. 
•    Additional education required by specialty areas/patient care locations.
