Montefiore, an integrated academic health system in New York, is seeking a Manager of Data Engineering and Analytics in its Strategic Planning Department.  The Manager will be responsible for building and optimizing data assets and analytic platforms, as well as developing advanced analytic methodologies and approaches.  The successful candidate will have strong database skills, and experience developing powerful analytics and reports. Experience in a healthcare provider or consulting environment is preferred.  Bachelor's Degree required.

Working closely with leadership, the Manager will establish analytics and reporting that supports crucial strategic decision making across Montefiore Health System.  The Manager will also partner with strategic planning team members and clinical leadership to advance initiatives such as service line strategies, physician engagement and medical staff development strategies.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with Strategic Planning and IT to develop and support database structures, data flows, and automated reports and dashboards.
  • Working closely with Montefiore Health System partners, data vendors, and government agencies to assure flow and accuracy of required data.
  • Developing reports and presentations that provide strategic insights and tactical recommendations that support decision-making.
  • Overseeing the work of analysts on a project basis, while helping them to grow and advance
  • Collecting and assessing qualitative and quantitative information, researching best practices, and supporting Montefiore’s status as an innovative, cutting-edge integrated academic health system
  • Supporting strategic partnerships with external entities. 

Competencies and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL and database development in MS SQL Server.
  • Development experience in a business intelligence platform, Tableau preferred.
  • Experience working with healthcare provider data.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.  Knowledge of advanced statistical methods is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop timelines and goals for projects and consistently deliver against milestones.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently.
  • Great team player, engages others and helps them to grow
