Provides leadership in the planning and overall management for the reporting and analytics team and supporting systems used throughout the Revenue Cycle. This position serves as a liaison between leadership, MIT staff and end-users, focusing on reporting needs of operational, receivable and quality improvement initiatives for Health Service Receivables (HSR). The Manager will be responsible a group of analysts and report developers, leading them in the analysis, requirements, design, development, testing, enhancement, documentation, and ongoing support of reporting requests. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of Epic and other system(s) reporting and provides a single point of contact for Report specific projects.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and managing projects, minimizing risks and satisfying compliance and efficiency needs with regards to reporting systems and databases.
  • Takes projects and reports from original concept through final implementation.
  • Develops detailed report specifications, work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Directly manages activities and performance of assigned team members.

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Ability to fully utilize electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and attend numerous meetings.
  • Supervises and participates in the design, implementation, testing, enhancement, and documentation of reports.
  • Facilitates, advises and provides support to the customer/s in regards to their data requests.
  • Strong data management and computer skills including reporting and database terminology, development of spreadsheets, analysis and manipulation of complex data from multiple data sources.
  • Will facilitate and maintain the efficient intake and governance of report requests.
  • Analytical skills necessary to review and identify reporting/data errors and develop corrective action plans.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new concepts and job requirements quickly as well as handle frequent change.
  • Oversees daily operations and processes to prioritize, assign, and optimize work for the Report Writing Team.
  • Manages report development efforts. Establishes standard practices for team work efforts and validation processes.
  • Identifies and manages opportunities to enhance report writing capabilities by identifying and addressing data integrity issues and conceptualization and development of ideas that demonstrate improved reporting processes.
  • Decides which reporting tools to use as new reporting needs arise. Identifies and validates the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs.
  • Provides support for ongoing development, maintenance and remediation of reports that have been developed as systems are upgraded or changed.
  • Provides leadership, technical assistance, and ongoing development opportunities to application Report Writers.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • EPIC Certification is preferred.

Experience:

Two years of experience in a similar position within a hospital or related field is required. Three to five years management or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with workflows and processes for one or more of the following preferred:
    • Patient ADT
    • Registration and/or Scheduling
    • Hospital Billing
    • Hospital Claims
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following system application areas preferred:
    • Patient demographic systems and associated 3rd party tools
    • Patient registration and scheduling systems and associated 3rd party tools
    • Revenue Cycle systems for Hospital billing and claims submission and associated 3rd party tools
  • Relational database concepts and proficiency with report writing tools
  • Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure
  • Crystal and SQL report writing- Preferred
