MATERIAL HANDLER II

BRONX, NY, US


Under the direct supervision of the manager, provides superior customer service by performing shipping, receiving, inventory control functions, and responsible for picking and delivery of supplies throughout the Medical Center, and computerized Inventory Control.  Required training and experience in Sterilization in the Central Supply Department. Operate and monitor the gas and steam autoclaves and assembling of procedure trays for the Nursing Department. Certified Central Service Technician required.

 

Education/Skills:

 

 

High school diploma minimum of 3 years work experience in a health care materials management capacity or equivalent of education and experience and computer literacy.  High level of communication and interpersonal skills. (Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English).  Must have at least 400 hours experience in the Sterilization process, instrumentation, assembling procedure trays and the operation of the ETO (Ethylene Oxide) and Steam Autoclaves.  Certified Central Service Technician is required. This position must routinely check shipments for accuracy, facilitate the timely delivery of orders placed by MMC departments and ensure the integrity of the data stored in the BIS Computerized System that relates directly to the Distribution operations and satellites.
