NEUROSURGEON

THE POSITION:  The Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking a dynamic attending with solid clinical and academic experience to join the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Medical Staff of Montefiore Health System. The successful candidate will have a clinically active practice and work with residents in the ORs and inpatient units.

 

At Montefiore Health System, s/he will:

  • Staff neurosurgery clinics and/or faculty practice as assigned by Chair and Vice Chair of Neurosurgery.
  • Participate in the call schedule, along with clinical supervision of all Neurosurgery inpatients. Perform emergency and elective surgeries.
  • Teach residents, fellows, students and others.
  • Seek out trials of new treatments for neurological disorders. Take a lead in participating in such trials, obtaining IRB approval, and identifying potential patients for enrollment.

 

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must possess an MD and have completed a residency in neurological surgery.  Candidates must be ABNS Board Eligible/Board Certified and be able to obtain an unrestricted New York Medical License.

 

Other desirable elements:

  • Completed Fellowship in Neurosurgical Oncology, Neurovascular, Spine, or Functional neurosurgery
  • Training and/or experience in Radiosurgery
