NUCLEAR MEDICINE RADIOLOGIST

BRONX, NY, US

At Montefiore, DOING MORE means building on a history of firsts to create the future of healthcare. For over 100 years, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of medicine with innovations such as the intravenous cardiac pacemaker, one of the nation’s first pediatric kidney transplants and the first radioiodine therapy of thyroid cancer.  As we continue to move forward, we seek professionals who want to join our team of leaders and trailblazers to advance the health of our communities in the Bronx, Westchester, and the Hudson Valley.

The Department of Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a full-time Board-Certified Nuclear Medicine physician to join the Division of Nuclear Medicine.  Montefiore Medical Center is a busy major academic institution serving a diverse urban and suburban population and is the primary teaching hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  The Division of Nuclear Medicine is fully-staffed by a complement of 8 physicians performing PET, cardiac, therapeutic and general nuclear medicine; a full-time physicist and research radiochemist are active members of our Division.  We actively train nuclear medicine, radiology and cardiology trainees.

We are currently in the midst of a major Department-wide upgrade to include state-of-the-art PET-CT and SPECT-CT cameras.   All imaging equipment is linked across sites for reading on networked nuclear medicine workstations.

The ideal candidate will be board-certified in nuclear medicine, enthusiastic about teaching residents and medical students and interested in research including clinical trials.  Fellowship training in nuclear cardiology, oncology and/or therapy is desirable, as these are actively growing areas of our Division.

Responsibilities include interpretation of diagnostic single photon planar, SPECT-CT and PET-CT studies including nuclear cardiology.  Applicants will also be expected to be proficient in therapeutic nuclear medicine.  Experience and/or research interest in nuclear cardiology, oncology or theranostics is desirable.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive, and academic rank at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine will be commensurate with experience.  Applicants must be eligible for and be able to obtain a NY state medical license prior to their start date.

Montefiore Medical Center is located in the Bronx, a short drive or public transit commute from Manhattan and also easily accessible from Westchester County, Long Island and northern New Jersey.

Qualified candidates should e-mail their CV with a cover letter summarizing their interest and background to John C. Pinto, Senior Recruiter, jpinto@montefiore.org
