Overview:

The office coordinator will provide administrative support for the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. The office coordinator will perform confidential administrative duties, utilizing appropriate discretion and independent judgment. Will have the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining responsibility for timely execution. Must have heavy calendar management experience. scheduling consultations and follow-up visits for patients with gastrointestinal and liver problems. Schedule and obtain prior insurance authorizations for all GI and radiologic procedures for Pediatric GI patients. Interface with referring physicians, patients, families and insurance companies.  Share responsibility for providing administrative/clerical coverage for chief, and division, as needed. Perform diversified and moderately complex secretarial duties. Assist with inventory of office supplies and equipment. Will perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent completion of business school course.
  • 3 years secretarial experience.
  • Training in PC based automated word processing systems
  • PC or mainframe-based management programs.
  • Requires knowledge of medical or equally complex terminology.
  • Ability to type 45 WPM
