PERFORMANCE FUNCTION COACH

BRONX, NY, US


As a member of the staff at Montefiore, with supervision by a licensed psychologist who is expert in the characteristics and needs of adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, the Executive Function coach will monitor and support the performance of clients (patients at the Montefiore-Einstein Center for Autism & Communication Disorders) who are college students or placed in internships/jobs at Montefiore/local businesses.

 

Education/Skills:

 

Bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness is required.  Certificate in executive functioning coaching required.

 Background in executive function coaching, academic coaching, tutoring, professional organizing, or sports coaching
• Must be certified in coaching executive functions (teaching and identifying strategies for: organization, time management, priorities, goal setting, & decision making)
• Must have at least 1 year of experience coaching/tutoring people with autism and social anxiety in the area of executive functioning
• Must have experience coaching social skills
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing a plus
• Understanding of neuropsychological profile and how it plays a role in a student's learning
• Effective communicator and partner with supervisors, employers, educators, and parents
• Ability to communicate with adolescents and adults with autism and communication disorders from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Organized, proactive, and attentive to detail
• Tech-savvy and comfortable conducting sessions via virtual meeting platforms when necessary
• Must have a private workspace with a secure internet connection
