PHARMACY SPECIALIST

BRONX, NY, US


Under direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with specific and detailed instructions assists in the packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies.  Performs various non-judgmental functions in all areas of the department including, ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging as well as provision of ambulatory services.  Responsible for the procurement of inventory and inventory control.  Performs other related duties and utilizes automated and computerized technology as required.

 

High school graduate or equivalent, completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on the job training.  PTCB certification. NYS Pharmacy Technician license. This position requires knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practice and procedures. Excellent communications, customer service and business interpersonal skills.  This position requires PC, windows and other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.
