PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Seeking PA to join our well-established and dynamic group led by internationally renowned Electrophysiologists. As part of our astonishing team, you will be collaborating with physician and other healthcare providers for planning, evaluation, coordination, implantation and facilitation of all facets of care for patients and families. Candidate is expected to demonstrate advanced and diverse clinical knowledge and skills in the capacity of clinicians, educator, researcher, collaborator and patient advocate to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a semi-autonomous, self-directed role in accordance with professional standards and clinical expertise.
Duties involve management of arrhythmia patients in an Inpatient/ Surgical EP ambulatory setting and include (but are not limited to):
Pre-op and post-op assessments for patients undergoing EP procedures- includes H&Ps, place orders, obtain consent, evaluate stability of patient, manage discharges, provide patient education and prescriptions, obtain prior authorizations for new medications on discharge
Performing EP-related inpatient consultations- includes H&Ps, assessing arrhythmia patients in the hospital, attend rounds with attending and EP team, implement EP management, schedule EP procedures, interrogate pacemakers /ICDs, trouble-shoot pacemaker/ICD issues, collaborate with the EP attendings primary, and consultative teams
Arrhythmia and/or cardiology experience strongly preferred. Candidate should be highly motivated and possess a good attitude, excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
NYS license for Physician Assistant Required
Bachelors Degree Required/Masters Preferred
