We are currently seeking Physician Assistants to join our esteemed Department of Oncology. As part of our astonishing team, you will be collaborating with physician and other healthcare providers for planning, evaluation, coordination, implantation and facilitation of all facets of care for patients are expected to demonstrate advanced and diverse clinical knowledge and skills in the capacity of clinicians, educator, researcher, collaborator and patient advocate to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a semi-autonomous, self-directed role in accordance with professional standards and clinical expertise.

Medical services redendered by physician assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations; writing progress notes, procedure notes and monthly care plans, ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedure; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals.

 

Physician Assistanst, in an emergency, shall be authorized to treat any medical disease and/or perform any medical and surgical procdures at the hospital for affiliates.   An emergnecy, for these purposes, is defined as a situation in which any delay in administering treatment would result in serious harm to the patient or an immediate  threat to life of the patient and that a qualified practitioner is not immediately available.

 

The activities listed about may be performed in any setting authorized by the superivising physician, including but not limited to, clinics, hospitals and other institution settings.

 

In addition to the core skills listed, PAs, will request validation to perform department specific skills.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant program.
  • Registered as a Physician’s Assistant in New York State
  • NCCPA certified
